A small but high in quality contest for sure!
We got some new people like Medllix or JohnStacy who both delivered great music!
The theme of this contest was “Ending and Credit Theme“.
For once the audio and video ranking results are significantly different.
With the current top 3 of both audio and video championship not participating, it allows some of the underdogs to catch up and get closer to the final podium!

We do not own any of those songs, they were composed by:
– Hirokazu Tanaka (Metroid)
– Ryoji Yoshitomi (Metroid II)
– Kenji Yamamoto (super Metroid)
– Minako Hamano (Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion)
– Akira Fujiwara (Metroid Fusion)
This album has 30 songs from the classic 2D Metroid games and is 1h35 long.
This is clearly our darkest album with a lot of great atmospheric tracks with a lot of electro and rock/metal songs to fit the oppressing feeling of the Metroid OST.
And here is the poll to know what your favourite tracks are 😀
Here are the top 5 most upvoted on our VGCover /Reddit during May 2017.

Hello people, it’s time for the review of April cover contest results !
The theme was “Villain Themes” and it was full of surprises.
Even if there was a bit less participants it was full of surprises like members making big collabs, people really trying new music style or some really original arrangements completely changing the mood from the original.
My last point was referring to the audio winner of this month, Orchestral Fantasywith his crazy salsa version of Kefka’s Theme from Final Fantasy VI.
At the 2nd and 3rd places we have the 2 leaders of the 2017 Pixel Mixers championship: Subversiveasset and PrjzCalavera.
About the video contest it’s a victory for Subversiveasset followed by PrjzCalavera and at the 3rd place we have a tie between the heavy SwigglesRP and the Epic Italian Team composed of Psamathes, Dacian Grada and Danilo Ciaffi.
PrjzCalavera keeps the lead at the 2017 audio championship, followed by Subversiveasset who took the 2nd place to Hashel (who didn’t enter this month). At the 4th place there is a tie between SwigglesRP and Dancian Grada, finally at the 5th place is this month’s winner: Orchestral Fantasy.
Hey VGM friends, I have the pleasure to introduce you our 1st EP (mini-album)!
EPs goal is to give some love to shorter soundtracks, less known games/series or just OST that we wouldn’t do as a big full album.
And to start we decided to make a tribute to the Ace Attorney Series and especially those 3 games: Phoenix Wright, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice.
You can download our album for free by clicking on this picture =>
This EP has 9 songs, arrangement and played by 12 musicians from the Pixel Mixers community and lasts a bit more than 25 minutes.
The original musics were composed by:
-Masakazu Sugimori (Phoenix Wright OST)
-Noriyuki Iwadare (Trials and Tribulations OST)
-Toshihiko Horiyama (Apollo Justice OST).
Ace Attorney (or Gyakuten Saiban in the original title) is a series of visual-novel games developed by Capcom. The games feature some investigations phases where you have to collect informations and find clues and then the trial phases where you have to find the contradictions in the testimony of the witnesses and use your logic to show the evidences at the right time.
This EP has a lot of musical variety and is the best representation of the Pixel Mixers Community in a nutshell. On this EP you’ll hear: orchestral music, smooth jazz, piano solo, blues, rock, metal, atmospheric folk or even dance music.
If you need a taste of it before downloading, here is the official trailer:
So what do think about this album? Have you enjoyed it?
