What is a video game battle theme? Do only certain genres of video games have battle themes? Can stage themes or character themes count as battle themes?
The theme for the Pixel Mixers February 2017 Cover Contest is for fan musicians to cover video game music from the ’90s that were used as battle themes. But within just a few days of announcing this theme, I received several questions about what counts as a battle theme in a video game.
