Today is the 31st of December 2020.
During this exhausting and nerve racking year, we worked on our newest huge album. This album is actually the 2nd largest album we’ve produced in our 5 year history.
From now on we’ll focus on relatively smaller projects.
The process took the full year, cost a lot of energy, but in the end it’s something we are all proud of!
So I’m very happy to introduce you to “Sunrise & Moonfall“, our tribute to the music from Majora’s Mask and Ocarina of Time!

This 4 disc album features 82 songs made by 98 musicians in a great variety of music styles ranging from traditional orchestral pieces and hard metal slam works, to smooth jazz suites and 80’s-style synthwave.

Final Fantasy VII Remake – Beneath a Stolen Sky [Tribute Album]

After a very long break, mostly due to 2020 being a big mess, we are finally back with a new album. “Beneath a Stolen Sky” is a tribute to Midgar Area tracks from Final Fantasy VII, to keep the spirit of the Remake.
The title is of course inspired by Shinra building the “Floating Pizza” higher society city above the homes of the lower society people’s houses, stealing the sky from them.
And in these difficult times, even if you feel like your “sky” has been stolen from you, I hope that like the characters of the game, you’ll find a way to smile and get it back.

This album features 23 re-arrangements/remixes from tracks that you can hear in the Midgar area in the original FFVII game + the Remake main theme “Hollow”.

This album involved more than 30 musicians and is the 1st of a compilation of albums that will more or less follow the the releases of the next parts of the Remake, also including the original tracks.

“Heroes” A Charity Tribute Album for Child’s Play (ft. GameGrooves)

Child’s Play‘s goal is to improve the lives of children through the power of play and support Children’s Hospitals, Clinics & Domestic Violence Shelters.

This album called “Heroes” is a compilation of 15 famous themes from a collection of children friendly games released during the last 4 decades.
Including: Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic and more recent ones such as Undertale or Celeste.

This album was the first organized by Dewey Newt for the Pixel Mixers Community.

Final Fantasy IX – Beyond the Mist [Tribute Album]

Hey guys, I have the great pleasure to talk about what is to this day the biggest and (subjectively) best work by the Pixel Mixers community.
This album sets a milestone for us as a community and everyone’s time and efforts is finally rewarded by the release of this great project!

This album features 120 tracks (the complete OST + some duplicates) made by as many musicians. The album is over 7 hours long !
We decided to divide this album into 6 “discs”:
– A Night at Alexandria
– Across the Hills
– Of Rats and Men
– Far from Home
– Gaia & Terra
– Bonus Tracks

While most of the songs follow the OST order, we decided to take some freedom and create some narrative arcs. This is especially true with the 1st disc that gathers songs related to characters or events linked to the city of Alexandria through the whole game.

We all hope you’ll enjoy our new takes on those fantastic songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu and the creative freedom we took with some of the songs.

GW2: Super Adventure Box – Try Hard & Tribulations [Tribute Album]

We are really happy to finally release our 2nd album of 2019, and it has a special story!
In the beginning of 2019 we had the idea to release a real but small album on April Fools Day. The idea we had was to use the fun OST from the Super Adventure Box, an old-school inspired adventure/platforming mini-game in Guild Wars 2 that was originally released in the game as an April Fools Day joke back in 2013.
The players enjoyed that mini-game created by Josh Foreman so much that it came back to be turned into an annual festival within GW2.

The OST of the “SAB” was composed by new GW2’s composers Maclaine Diemer and Lena Raine. Some songs like “Sunny Glade” or  “Main Theme” were still inspired by Jeremy Soule‘s compositions from the main game.

The funny chip-tune OST inspired our musicians and we went from a smaller 5-7 songs project to an album covering the complete OST from the Super Adventure Box, which made us change the release date to make sure we had all the songs covered. We sincerely hope you guys, GW2 fans or not, will enjoy this album =)

And what an album… The 2nd volume of our series dedicated to Indie Games music.
After “The Great Tale of the Little Ones” in 2016 here is the Vol.2 of what’s going to be an annual thing!
We focused on games released from 2015 to 2018. So in early 2020 for the Vol.3 we’ll focus on games from 2016 to 2019 etc etc.
I already can tell you that we were super excited to work on this project and everybody involved did a really good job, I hope you’ll appreciate it =)
